Accelerating DeepTech Innovation
we develop and provide innovative technologies for the oil and gas industry, increasingly contributing to the energy transition to a low-carbon economy.
What we do
ouronova is a deep tech company committed to developing innovative technologies that significantly impact the oil and gas industry. Our solutions, focused on operational efficiency, safety, and reliability, are designed to minimize human and environmental risks.
Established in 2010 by merging three spin-offs from laboratories of the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-Rio), ouronova is the Brazilian market leader in structural health monitoring of flexible risers and an important R&D partner of global industry players, filling the gap between academia and the market.
Committed to innovation and excellence, we accelerate deep tech innovation to enable the industry to overcome technological challenges and lead the energy transition.
ouronova offers offshore monitoring solutions for flexible and rigid risers, including project design, system installation, and integrity reports, minimizing time and resources spent on repair while improving operational safety.
Solutions
Flexible Risers
Based on fiber optic sensor technology, the MODA system is the solution offered by ouronova for remote and real-time integrity monitoring of flexible risers.
Ongoing R&D
Rigid Risers
Leveraging cutting-edge fiber optic sensor technology, ouronova has developed a state-of-the-art remote and real-time monitoring solution for rigid risers.
ouronova offers innovative products for all-electric intelligent well completions, which allow greater production control, increases oil recovery, and reduce operational costs.
Solutions
Ongoing R&D
eICV - Electric Inflow Control Valve
The eICV is a highly reliable inflow control valve based on a fully electric actuation system integrated with a well monitoring system.
Ongoing R&D
eSSV - Electric Subsurface Safety Valve
The eSSV is a fully electric downhole safety valve based on a robust electromechanical actuator with embedded control electronics.
Ongoing R&D
eSCM - Electric Subsea Control Module
The eSCM is a dedicated control system designed to perform the communication and power source interfaces between the electric well systems and the surface control units.
With a wide range of remote-operated modular robots, ouronova provides non-destructive inspection services, including integrity reports of the asset’s physical condition, avoiding unnecessary repair stoppages and accidents.
Solutions
In-pipe Crawlers: Non-piggable Pipes Inspection
TATUÍ, SIMAS, and SIMÃO are a family of autonomous, remote-operated modular robots performing visual, ultrasonic, wall-thickness, geometric, MFL, and other tests.
Surface Inspection: Visual Inspection Robot
HAZMAG was developed as a multipurpose magnetic robotic platform for performing visual inspections in confined spaces and hazardous environments.
With a specialized team and extensive market experience, ouronova develops advanced technological solutions, applying industry best practices to ensure well integrity is maintained throughout all stages of the asset lifecycle. From initial drilling to decommissioning, our solutions are flexible, scalable, and tailored to meet each client’s needs.
Solution
wellnova
During the well lifecycle , a fast, accurate, and reliable cement bond evaluation is mandatory to support field operational decisions. The wellnova platform can help operators and service providers save time and resources by using Active Learning algorithms to evaluate the cement quality quickly and agnostically.
Ongoing R&D
WAA - Temporary Abandoned Wells
The system measures pressure variation over time in the Subsea Tree cavities, thus determining whether there is a leakage in the Well Barriers. All information can be sent via satellite to an offshore base or an ROV.
At key moments in the lifecycle of every oil and gas well, maintenance, repair, or replacement of critical components becomes essential. This is when operators rely on the expertise of intervention specialists to ensure continued performance. In cases of heavy intervention, production may be paused, allowing the rig crew to implement significant equipment upgrades for long-term operational success.
Solutions
Ongoing R&D
WellRobot® - Autonomous downhole robotic platform
An autonomous robotic platform that reduces the cost of in-well logging and intervention services, avoiding the need for a rig.
Combining technologies to generate solutions that make it possible to increase the reliability of operations and ensure the integrity of subsea equipment.
