The lack of data and information during the production life of deepwater wells is problematic for efficient operations management. In complex well architectures the use of intelligent equipment to provide real-time information, status and guidance is essential to reduce the operational cost and improve production management.
The Downhole Monitoring Mandrel (eDMM) is a sensing tool equipped with a high-end processing system able to monitor well pressure and temperature, from annulus and tubing spaces, and to provide real time processed information.
The eDMM is a modular monitoring system that could be instrumented with other types of sensors, depending on the application. The equipment can be installed in onshore or offshore wells and the communication protocol is compatible with the intelligent completion subsea interface (eSCM).
