Offshore P&A activities are expanding worldwide as mature fields reach the end of their commercial life. The evaluation of cement quality between the casing and the formation is necessary to guarantee well barrier integrity. Tools currently available require removal of the production tubing from the well which is costly and time consuming.
The tool under development employs innovative through tubing logging technology to evaluate cement quality without removal of the production tubing. The solution combines acoustic sensors with AI algorithms to perform the logging, reducing cost and time of P&A activities.
