eSSVElectric Subsurface Safety Valve
The Challenge
The downhole safety valve is installed below the ground/seabed to prevent the uncontrolled flow of hydrocarbons through the production tubing, in the case of a catastrophic event. Hydraulic actuated downhole safety valves, which are used in many applications around the world, show a high number of failures, compromising the well barrier envelope and requiring costly workovers for repair.
Our Solution
The eSSV is a fully electric downhole safety valve, based on a robust electromechanical actuator with embedded control electronics.
With an optimal actuation system, the eSSV is a robust and reliable equipment, designed for high pressure and temperature deepwater wells, with very low power consumption to operate and even smaller (residual) power consumption to keep open.
The eSSV has an integrated monitoring system for pressure and temperature and an electro-mechanical “trigger” that composes the equipment fail safe close mechanism for fast and reliable flapper closure in case of well failure.
Main Advantages
- Electric commanded open and close operations;
- Immediate flapper closing in case of failures;
- Redundant sensing systems for choke position, feedback, and diagnostics;
- Integrated PDG sensors;
- Long life cycle with high reliability in harsh environments;
- Designed for extreme temperatures, high pressures and high flow rates.
