Electronic Subsea Control Module
INTELLIGENT WELL COMPLETION
eSCMElectric Subsea Control Module
The Challenge
The transition for all-electric well completions in offshore applications demands highly complex communication architecture and large power supply capacity. Most existing subsea wells do not have control systems able to manage large data and signal volumes and are unable to supply the required electric power for equipment operations, restricting the use of electric systems.
Our Solution
The electronic subsea control module (eSCM) is a dedicated control system designed to perform the communication and power source interfaces between the well electric systems and the surface control units.
Composed of an Electric Power Unit (EPU), a Power Line Modem (PLM) for communication over a 20Km range and Data Storage Unit (DSU), the eSCM manages a large number of communication and control signals in real-time and supplies power for downhole equipment. The canister is designed to be replaced via ROV and compatible with many types of wet Christmas tree. Besides well systems, the eSCM can be used as a subsea hub to provide communication between surface and any type of subsea electric system.
Main Advantages
- Standard communication protocol, compatible with any intelligent completion supplier;
- Increase of well energy source supply;
- Real time data communication;
- Compatible with the existing Xtree control system;
