Installed in wells that require artificial elevation methods of oil production, the gas injection valve (gas-lift valve) allows the passage of gas that is being injected in the annulus space to the production tubing, in order to reduce production flow weight. The low reliability of existing valves is the main problem of the gas-lift elevation solution and is one of the biggest causes of well intervention.
The electric gas-lift valve is a permanent and reliable smart mandrel to be installed in the production tubing (below the downhole safety valve) that has an electric actuator to open and close the flow between annulus and tubing.
Instrumented with a monitoring system (well temperature and pressure) and a fail-safe close mechanism the system guarantees the safety closure of one or more electric gas-lift mandrels when the power supply is not available, improving safety and operational reliability of the well.
